How to create and mange events in event calendar

Welcome to the detailed documentation for the "Calendar" module in the Campustom. This module provides an overview of all the events that occur within the campus, including important upcoming events in the days and months ahead. Staff members, students, and parents can easily access the "Campustom" calendar through both the web and mobile applications, ensuring that they are always informed about upcoming events and schedules.

Adding Events to the Calendar

To add events to the calendar, super administrators and administrators have the ability to do so. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to add events in the calendar:

  1. Login to the Campustom Dashboard using your credentials.
  2. Navigate to the specific campus that you want to manage.
  3. Once you've selected the desired campus, locate the "Calendar" module in the navigational panel and click on it.
  4. Upon entering the "Calendar" module, you will see a icon button. Click on this button to proceed.
  5. A form will appear where you can enter the details of the event.
    1. Start by providing the name of the event.
    2. Choose a color for the event from the dropdown menu. This is useful for campus members to easily identify various events with different colors.
    3. Select the date of the event using the datepicker.
    4. Specify the time range for the event within a day using the "from" and "to" time range pickers.
  6. Set the visibility of the announcement post to the following types:
    • Public: All members in the campus can view the event.
    • Staff: The calendar event is only limited staff members.
    • Course: You can specify the relevant courses, and the calendar event will be visible to students subscribed to those courses.
  7. In the bottom row of the form, you will find two checkboxes.
    1. The first checkbox is labeled "All day." By toggling this checkbox, you can indicate if the event will span the entire day. If the event is an "All day" event, the "Start date" and "End date" fields will appear instead of the "Date" and time range pickers. This allows administrators to mark events as multi-day events.
    2. The second checkbox is labeled "Leave day." This checkbox allows you to specify whether the event is a leave day or not.
  8. Finally, provide any additional details about the event in the "Description" field.
  9. Once you have entered all the necessary information, click the "Save" button to save the event.

Editing Calendar Events

To edit a calendar event in the "Campustom" app, both super administrators and administrators can follow these simple steps:

  1. Login to the Campustom Dashboard using your credentials.
  2. From the dashboard, select the specific campus that you want to manage.
  3. Once you have selected the desired campus, locate the Calendar module in the navigational panel and click on it.
  4. In the Calendar module, locate the event that you wish to edit. You can move forward and backward through different months using the navigation buttons located at the top of the calendar.
  5. Once you have found the event you want to edit, click on it. This will open a dialog box displaying the event's information.
  6. In the dialog box, you will see a icon button. Click on this button to make changes to the event.
  7. A form will appear, similar to the one described in the Creating Calendar Event section. Follow the same steps mentioned earlier to modify the event details. You can change the event name, event color, date, time range, and other relevant information.
  8. After making the necessary modifications, click the Save button to save the updated event.

By following these steps, both super administrators and administrators can easily edit calendar events in your campus. This ensures that any changes or updates to events are accurately reflected in the calendar.

Deleting Calendar Events

To delete a calendar event in the Campustom, follow these steps:

  1. Login to the Campustom Dashboard dashboard and navigate to the specific campus that you want to manage.
  2. In the navigational panel, locate and click on the Calendar module to access the calendar page.
  3. Find the event you wish to delete from the month calendar view.
  4. Click on the event to open a dialog box displaying the event's information.
  5. In the event info dialog, you will see a icon button. Click on this button to delete the event.

By following these steps, you can easily delete calendar events in your campus. It's important to note that deleting an event will remove it from the calendar and cannot be undone, so please ensure that you want to permanently delete the event before proceeding.
