Campus transport and route handling
Welcome to the Campustom Transports Module Documentation! This comprehensive guide will walk you through the various functionalities and features of the Transports module in Campustom, By leveraging the power of technology, campus administrators can efficiently manage college transport vehicles and enable real-time tracking for students, parents, and staff members.
Creating a Transport
To create a new transport within the Campustom app, campus administrators can follow these steps:
- Visit the Campustom Dashboard and navigate to the campus that the admin wants to manage.
- Once on the desired campus page, use the navigational panel to locate and select the Transports module.
- Upon entering the Transports module, click on the New button located in the upper right corner of the screen. This action will prompt a form to appear.
- In the form, enter the necessary details for the transport, including the transport name, vehicle number, and driver selection. To select a staff member as the driver, utilize the search field provided. Additionally, there is an "About/bio" field where admins can add any relevant information about the transport. Finally, click the Save button to save the transport.
Defining Transport Routes:
Campus Administrators optionally can define transport route map using a Route map editor. This route, displayed on both web and mobile applications, aids students, parents, and staff members in tracking college transports in real time.
Real-Time Tracking
Instead of waiting at bus stops, users can conveniently track college transports in real time using the web or mobile applications. This feature enhances the overall campus experience by reducing wait times and improving transportation efficiency.
Staff members with the driver role can change the transport status to "Go to trip" to initiate tracking. Android and iOS apps offer additional functionalities such as starting and ending trips, which are exclusive to these platforms.
Deleting a Transport:
If a transport is no longer required and needs to be removed from the system, then follow these steps:
- Visit the Campustom Dashboard and navigate to the campus that the admin wants to manage.
- Once on the desired campus page, use the navigational panel to locate and select the Transports module.
- Visit the Transport info page for the transport that needs to be deleted.
- On the Transport info page, locate the delete button and click on it. This action will trigger a confirmation dialog.
- After confirming the deletion, the transport and all associated data will be moved to the recycle bin. Please note that the transport can be restored within 30 days from the date of deletion.
- If the 30-day period passes, the transport and all related data will be permanently deleted from the system. It is essential to exercise caution when deleting transports, as the action is irreversible after the 30-day recovery period.
